The Adventures of Tobasco da Gama

I shop at Whole Foods because I’m a dirty hippie and also because it’s a 10 minute walk from my apartment. And also because they have a great cheese section.

So I picked up one of these Vosges chocolate bars, specifically the “Red Fire Bar”. I don’t know what the Aztec who first combined cacao with peppers was thinking, but the man was clearly a genius. Anyway, the point is that it came with instructions. I kid you not.

My favourite part?

Based on your sensory history, you may experiences nuances of…leather, dairy, vegetables, flowers, fruit, roasted tobacco, coffee caramel, nuttiness, spiciness, or…?

Leather? Tobacco? What’s the question mark supposed to represent? Perhaps hints of mummy or guano.

I didn’t follow the instructions. I still enjoyed my “exotic candy bar”.
